Like many residents in Palmerstown, I was very disappointed to learn of the decision by An Bord Pleanála to grant permission to construct 250 “build-to-rent” apartments at the Vincent Byrne site. Like other councillors and residents, I opposed this proposal given the inadequate consideration given to the many infrastructural deficiencies around the site, not least of all the need for a grade separated junction. I will continue to work with my council colleagues and residents to decide on the best path forward. The construction of a grade-separated junction must be a priority, and I will continue to fight for this.
